My Name Is Hezekiah• My name is Hezekiah, I am king I testify My path has been determined and time has passed me by. I’m laying on my sick bed, I uttered with a sigh. When I thought things might get better I saw Isaiah coming by, he said, “Put your house in order, King — God has told me you will die.” So in sorrow for my dreaded state, my prayer was lifted high.
• I spoke of all my service, but the words fell short and thin, for being in God’s presence shows the truth of every man. In that silent moment all my strength proved not enough. I turned unto the wall and wept — for breaking my God’s trust. This turning of my heart has served to credit it on high. I chose the course determined by the Sovereign who can’t lie. The truth is that two paths are always offered by the High. Hezekiah’s path determined merged with that of the Lord.
• He turned Isaiah with the message that fifteen years were stored, for Hezekiah never wavered when he asked him for a sign, and God answered he would show him by His governing of time. So Hezekiah chose backwards the shadow on the dial, a bending of the moment that revealed God’s ancient style.
• It seems there is a pattern here to trace in this old text, for warnings are not empty and the promise is not flexed. The death‑word was a true word, the life‑word stood there too, both held within the Eternal Now, both certain, both were true. The warning was the doorway and the turning was the key, the Sovereign held the outcomes and revealed what man would see. For time is but the canvas where His decrees unfold, and man must choose the pathway that the Holy One has told. Two roads stand in the moment, both fixed before His throne, yet only one becomes the life a mortal calls his own.
• And I, the king who trembled when the prophet said I’d die, found mercy in the turning from a loving God who won’t deny. He showed me both my endings and the one I stepped inside, and time itself bent backward, the decree long‑held implied.
• So mark this ancient story and the pattern it records: two paths decreed in heaven, revealed by sovereign words. The warning is the mercy, the life is grace restored, and time becomes the meeting place where man walks with his Lord.
